FRANCIS FORD COPPOLA: Hollywood filmmaker Francis Ford Coppola told TMZ "The Godfather" shouldn't have been followed up with two sequels, one of which won the Best Picture Oscar.

Released in 1974, "The Godfather Part II" won six Academy Awards and is widely regarded as one of cinema's best sequels. "The Godfather Part III," which hit theaters in 1990, was panned by critics, however.

The mob movies were based on novels by Mario Puzo. The cast of the iconic film franchise included Marlon Brando, Al Pacino, Robert DeNiro, James Caan, Robert Duvall, Diane Keaton and Talia Shire.

Asked by a TMZ cameraman if he would consider making a fourth "Godfather," Coppola replied: "Nah. There should have only been one."

Coppola didn't explain why he thought he should have stopped with the first film.

GEORGE CLOONEY: Former Baltimore Ravens cheerleader Stacy Keibler says her boyfriend, film star George Clooney, had elbow surgery last week.

"You kno its love when your boyfriend has elbow surgery 2 days ago and takes u to a #ravens game ... especially when he's a Bengals fan," Kiebler said via Twitter Sunday.

Jonathan Ogden, an ex-offensive lineman for the Ravens, also posted a photo of himself with Clooney, who was sporting an arm sling.

People.com said it is unclear why Clooney had the operation.

Clooney can now be seen in the Hawaii-set family drama "The Descendents."

MEGHAN McCAIN: Meghan McCain, daughter of U.S. Sen. John McCain, has joined MSNBC as a contributor, the cable network announced.

Her first appearance is set for Monday on "NOW with Alex Wagner."

Meghan McCain, a frequent MSNBC guest since 2009, worked at Newsweek magazine and "Saturday Night Live" when she was a student at Columbia University.

"I couldn't be more excited to be joining the MSNBC family," McCain, 27, said in a statement. "It's a unique opportunity to share my perspective as a Republican on a network I respect and have built a relationship with over the past two years."

MSNBC said in a news release McCain's "unparalleled exposure to American politics gave her the opportunity to hear voters debate the most complex issues first-hand."

McCain, a columnist for The Daily Beast, chronicled her time on the 2008 presidential campaign trail with her father in the memoir "Dirty Sexy Politics."

ALI & ROBERTO: A publicist for Ali Fedotowsky and fiance Roberto Martinez say the U.S. reality TV personalities have broken up.

The couple got engaged at the end of Season 6 of "The Bachelorette" in 2009.

"Ali Fedotowsky and Roberto Martinez have ended their relationship," their representative told UsMagazine.com Monday. "As they go through this difficult time, we ask that you respect the couple's privacy."

The publicist did not offer an explanation for why the pair decided to split up, but an insider told the celebrity news Web site: "Their relationship has been tumultuous since Day 1. They're either extremely happy or they can't stand each other."

"They bring out the worst in each other," a second source told UsMagazine.com.
