CONDOLEEZZA RICE: "30 Rock" creator and star Tina Fey says former U.S. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice will appear on the sitcom later this season.
TVGuide.com said Fey made the casting announcement Thursday on NPR's "Leonard Lopate Show."
"We have another few amazing cameos," Fey said. "One, I'm going to make an executive decision that I'm allowed to talk about this -- we have Condoleezza Rice coming up in a couple weeks on the show."
Fey revealed Rice is to play the former flame of Alec Baldwin's character Jack, TVGuide.com said.
JOHN GALLIANO: The board of John Galliano's fashion label has fired the British designer after he allegedly made anti-Semitic remarks, The Daily Telegraph said.
Galliano, 50, recently completed a stint in rehab where he was treated for alcohol addiction.
His 18-year-old label is largely owned by Christian Dior SA, the company that fired him from his post as creative director last month.
The Telegraph said Friday the in-house design team at John Galliano is expected to continue creating future collections while Christian Dior SA decides the long-term future of the label.
Galliano is awaiting trial on a charge of public insult at the Paris High Court. He is accused of making anti-Semitic remarks during an altercation outside a Paris cafe in February.
EVANGELINE LILLY: U.S. actress Evangeline Lilly is pregnant with her first child, UsMagazine.com reported.
Lilly, 31, is best known for playing Kate on TV's "Lost."
She has been dating Norman Kali, who was a production assistant on the supernatural drama, which wrapped up last year.
UsMagazine.com published photos taken Thursday of Lilly sporting a huge baby bump in Hawaii. However, the actress' publicist declined to comment on the Web site's story.
Lilly previously dated her "Lost" co-star Dominic Monaghan from 2004-09. He played Charlie on the series.
THE BEACH BOYS: Former members of the Beach Boys say they are releasing a new record to raise money for the Red Cross relief effort in Japan.
The island nation was devastated by a massive earthquake and tsunami last month and the Red Cross has been instrumental in providing aid to those affected by the disaster.
In response to the tragedy, musician Al Jardine and his former Beach Boys bandmates Brian Wilson, Mike Love and Bruce Johnston are releasing a 2-song record featuring the environmentally conscious collaboration "Don't Fight the Sea" -- which appears on Jardine's 2010 CD, "A Postcard from California" -- as well as an unreleased Beach Boys a capella mix from a 1968 recording of the song, "Friends."
"We felt that the song had a nice basic message of friendship," Jardine said in a statement Friday. "I also like the idea of that song, because the vocals are a bit underappreciated. So this release was a perfect place to showcase the idea of harmony and friendship. Everybody is behind it 100 percent, that's the nice part."
The Beach Boys released their last studio album, "Stars and Stripes Vol. 1," in 1996.
