LOS ANGELES, July 1 (UPI) -- The Los Angeles funeral for actress Farrah Fawcett was attended by her longtime partner Ryan O'Neal and a "Charlie's Angels" co-star, observers said.

O'Neal's son with Fawcett, Redmond O'Neal, 24 -- who is serving an 18-month jail sentence for a drug conviction -- was temporarily released from the Los Angeles County Jail to attend his mother's private funeral Tuesday at the Cathedral of Our Lady of the Angels in downtown Los Angeles, CNN reported.

Fawcett, 62, died last week after a three-year battle against cancer.

Also seen entering the cathedral was one of Fawcett's co-stars on her breakout 1970s television hit "Charlie's Angels," Kate Jackson, as well as former supermodel Cheryl Tiegs. Ryan O'Neal helped carry Fawcett's casket from the hearse.

Fawcett parlayed her "Charlie's Angels" fame and signature blond mane, model's figure and beaming smile into superstardom as a poster icon, and later established herself as a serious actress in the 1984 TV movie "The Burning Bed," as well as in the William Mastrosimone play "Extremities" and its 1986 movie follow-up, CNN said.
