D.J. AM: I'm the luckiest guy alive

LOS ANGELES, Sept. 29 (UPI) -- U.S. celebrity disc jockey Adam Goldstein described himself as "the luckiest guy alive" in a Facebook entry made after his release from a Georgia hospital.

The 35-year-old entertainer known as D.J. AM and Travis Barker, former drummer for the band Blink 182, were involved in a Learjet crash that left four people dead in South Carolina earlier this month. Barker and Goldstein sustained serious burns but are expected to make a full recovery, doctors said.

Barker is being treated at the Joseph Still Burn Center in Augusta, Ga., where Goldstein was also a patient. A friend recently told People magazine Barker is expected to go home in about two weeks.

"Adam Goldstein is the luckiest guy alive," Usmagazine.com said Goldstein declared in a Facebook status update Friday.

"While he is deeply saddened by the events he is thankful for all of the love and support he has been receiving from fans and friends worldwide," his representative said in a statement Friday. "We ask that you continue (to) respect his privacy as he rests and heals and mourns the loss of his friends."

Usmagazine.com said the National Transportation Safety Board hasn't determined the cause of the crash, however, it did say the plane's black box indicated the crew was aware one of the aircraft's tires had blown.
