Bryan Cranston took home the Emmy for outstanding lead actor in a drama for his work in "Breaking Bad," while Glenn Close won the statuette for outstanding lead actress in a drama for her role in "Damages."

Upon collecting her award, Close saluted her fellow nominees -- Kyra Sedgwick, Holly Hunter, Sally Field and Mariska Hargitay -- and said: "I think we're proving that complicated, powerful, mature women are sexy and high entertainment and can carry a show. I call us the sisterhood of the TV drama divas. Helen Mirren and Judi Dench are in that group."
