Mendes starts shooting untitled movie

NEW YORK, April 30 (UPI) -- British filmmaker Sam Mendes has begun shooting his new, as-yet-untitled picture in Connecticut, Focus Features announced.

Mendes' movies include "Jarhead," "American Beauty" and "Road to Perdition."

His latest project is a contemporary comedy produced and co-financed by Big Beach, with Focus Features co-financing and distributing worldwide.

The movie is about an expectant couple traveling the United States in search of a place to put down roots and raise a family.

John Krasinski of "The Office" and "Saturday Night Live" alum Maya Rudolph play the parents-to-be.

The film's cast also includes Toni Collette, Jeff Daniels, Carmen Ejogo, Jim Gaffigan, Cheryl Hines and Allison Janney.
