Lubbock attends Barrymore play

LONDON , Feb. 6 (UPI) -- Terry Lubbock, the father of a man found dead in Michael Barrymore's pool, sat in the front row during the opening night of the British actor's new play.

Barrymore is starring in "Surviving Spike" at the Theatre Royal in Windsor, Berkshire.

The opening-night performance marked the actor's first stage performance since he was arrested and later cleared of suspicion of murder last year in Stuart Lubbock's 2001 death, Sky News said.

Terry Lubbock is lobbying for a second inquest into how his son died.

Sky News said Barrymore was aware of Terry Lubbock's presence in the theater and appeared anxious as he performed.

Lubbock left the show after about 30 minutes and went to talk to journalists outside.

"I came to draw attention to the fact that my son suffered very, very serious sexual injuries which led to his death at Michael Barrymore's house," Lubbock said. "And Michael Barrymore has consistently denied that those injuries happened at his house. I don't wish to insult Mr. Barrymore kick-starting his career, but the man has got to come clean and say

exactly what happened to my son that night."
