Strait wins CMA for album of the year

NASHVILLE, Nov. 7 (UPI) -- George Strait's "It Just Comes Natural" was named album of the year at the 41st annual CMA awards show in Nashville Wednesday.

Strait shared the award with the album's co-producer, Tony Brown.

Also nominated for the prize were Brad Paisley's "5th Gear", Dierks Bentley's "Long Trip Alone", Keith Urban's "Love, Pain & the Whole Crazy Thing" and Vince Gill's "These Days."

The award marks Strait's sixth win in this category.

"Of the awards that I was nominated for, this is really the one I was hoping I could come up here for tonight because it is such a group effort to make an album ...," Strait said upon accepting the prize.
