'Da Vinci' cast heads to Cannes by train

LONDON, May 16 (UPI) -- The stars of Ron Howard's film adaptation of "The Da Vinci Code" hopped on the Eurostar in London Tuesday en route for their world premiere in Cannes, France.

When the train carrying Howard along with star Tom Hanks, Audrey Tautou, Ian McKellen, Paul Bettany, Jean Reno and Alfred Molina arrives at the Cannes Film Festival, it will have set a record for the longest international non-stop rail trip, the Daily Mail reported.

The special train called "The Da Vinci Code" set off from London's Waterloo International terminal and will have traveled 883 international miles by the journey's end.

The film will be shown at the Cannes Film Festival Thursday and open worldwide Friday.
