LOS ANGELES, April 6 (UPI) -- "Bend It Like Beckham" director Gurinder Chadha reportedly has been tapped to replace Robert Luketic at the helm of the big screen version of "Dallas."
Luketic recently walked off the project over "creative issues," Daily Variety reported.

John Travolta takes the lead as the scheming J.R. Ewing in Hollywood's take on the popular 1980s soap, with Jennifer Lopez, Luke Wilson and Shirley MacLaine also aboard.
It will mark the second recent TV-to-film adaptation for Chadha, who is directing "I Dream of Jeannie" as well, Variety said.
