Leading man Ewan McGregor was not able to attend because he is starring in the stage musical "Guys and Dolls" in London.

Helmed by "Armageddon" director Michael Bay and written by "Alias" and "Transformers" scribes Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci, "The Island" is set in the year 2019 in a contained facility that controls every aspect of its residents' lives in the name of science.

When Johansson and McGregor's characters realize they are more valuable dead than alive to those who run the facility, they embark on a desperate race for their lives.

The movie opens July 22.
