Olsens deny Mary-Kate cocaine addiction

NEW YORK, July 2 (UPI) -- The family of Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen denies U.S. tabloid reports that Mary-Kate is undergoing treatment for cocaine addiction.

Two U.S. tabloids published stories saying Mary-Kate, 18, became addicted to cocaine while trying to lose weight, Access Hollywood reported Friday.

"The bottom line is that Mary-Kate was not admitted for drugs -- period," said Olsen's spokeswoman.

Dave Olsen, the twins' father, also dismissed the report.

"I can't control what other people say. It's frustrating, but I have got to keep my eye on the ball right now," he said.

American Media, which owns the tabloids, backs its story.

"If they were going to sue us, they would have done it already," a spokesman said.

The family has maintained Mary-Kate is undergoing treatment for an eating disorder.
