Comic Graham Norton's coat held at customs

NEW YORK, June 25 (UPI) -- U.S. Customs officials in New York have impounded Irish comedian Graham Norton's wardrobe because one jacket looks like it's made from crocodile skin.

Norton, who moved to Manhattan to star in "The Graham Norton Effect" on cable's Comedy Central, said authorities are holding his clothes because they want to know what the jacket is made from, if not crocodile skin, the Irish Echo reported Friday.

"I don't know; it's plastic," Norton said about the coat's fabric.

Norton, whose U.S. version of his popular British series premiered Thursday, said he does not know when his clothes will be returned.

Comic Sandra Bernhard and actor Marlon Wayans were Norton's guests on the show's first night.
