Richie not happy with 'Life' editing

NEW YORK, June 14 (UPI) -- Nicole Richie told the New York Daily News her reality TV show "The Simple Life" was edited to make her behavior look worse than it really was.

Particularly irksome to the New York socialite was a scene depicting her throwing a tantrum in a bar after she misplaced her purse.

"That's not the way it happened," Richie said. "It was kind of a mixture of four different events that got squashed into one. But it happens. What are you gonna do? I have to pick and choose my battles and I just made sure that this season that wouldn't happen."

Richie and her best friend, heiress Paris Hilton, will soon be seen in Fox series, "The Simple Life 2."

This time around, however, the pair is not involved in any off-screen scandals, such as Richie's run-ins with the law and Hilton's infamous sex tape, the TV star pointed out.

"That's totally in my past and I have been clean for over a year now. I am just moving forward with my life," Richie said. "I do what every 22-year-old girl does now. I go to the movies. I go out to dinner and I just hang out with friends and family."
