The Detroit Lions added depth to their tight end position on Monday by signing free agent Wes Saxton.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed for Saxton, who joins former Seattle Seahawks tight end Luke Willson and ex-Atlanta Falcons tight end Levine Toilolo on the roster.

The Lions parted ways in March with former first-round tight end Eric Ebron, who later signed a two-year contract with the Indianapolis Colts.

Last season, Ebron appeared in all 16 games (nine starts) for the first time in his career and caught 53 passes for 574 yards with four touchdowns.

Saxton spent part of last season with the Buffalo Bills. The 24-year-old also participated on the practice squads of the Washington Redskins and New York Jets after entering the NFL as an undrafted rookie free agent out of South Alabama in 2015.
