EFW tapped to provide Apache aviator helmets

Jan. 24 (UPI) -- EFW Inc. has been awarded a contract for Apache Aviator Integrated Helmets and associated spare parts for the U.S. Army.

The deal, announced Tuesday by the Department of Defense, is valued at more than $12.6 million under the terms of a firm-fixed-price contract agreement.

The Apache Aviator Integrated Helmet is a critical piece of hardware for pilots of the AH-64 Apache helicopter. The helmet boasts a heads-up display that delivers targeting information and infrared imaging to the helmet display.

Work on the contract is to be determined with each order request, and is expected to be completed in January 2022.

The U.S. Army Contracting Command out of Redstone Arsenal, Ala., is the contracting authority for this deal.
