Aug. 4 (UPI) -- Boeing has received a $409 million contract for development of thermal, power and control systems as part of a wide-ranging government and industry research effort.
The contract goes toward applied research and technological development for future defense projects. The work will primarily be conducted in Hazelwood, Mo., and is expected to run through July 2024.
Boeing's Research & Technology Center-Missouri outside St. Louis opened in 2015. It has over 700 engineers and technicians working on a variety of research projects for their commercial and defense businesses.
BR&T-Missouri has research partnerships with the Missouri University of Science and Technology and St. Louis University to pool knowledge and personnel. It is one of 10 research facilities run by Boeing around the world.
