Feb. 2 (UPI) -- Lockheed Martin received a $166 million contract to perform full-rate production for the U.S. Navy's electronic Consolidated Automated Support Systems.

The contract covers 36 of the systems, which are being produced to replace the Navy's legacy configurations. The Navy plans to procure a total of 338 stations, and expects to produce more for its foreign allies.

The work will be performed at various locations, including Orlando, Fla.; Hunt Valley, Md; North Reading, Pa.; Irvine, Calif., and several others. The U.S. Department expects the work to be complete by January 2021.

Lockheed Martin received all funding at the time of the award, with $2.3 million set to expire by the end of the current fiscal year. The contract was not competitively procured. The Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division in Lakehurst, N.J., is listed as the contracting activity.

The electronic Consolidated Automated Support System, or eCASS, provides shore-based and afloat depot level maintenance and repair capabilities for the Navy's aircraft, ships, and submarine electronic systems.

The system is expected to be fielded and operational at some point in 2017.
