GORINCHEM, Netherlands, Nov. 18 (UPI) -- Damen Shipyards Group of the Netherlands reports it is currently modifying two patrol boats it has sold to the Jamaica Defense Force.

The two new Stan Patrol 4207 vessels represent a renewal of the JDF patrol boat fleet, replacing three Damen-built Count-class offshore patrol vessels their fleet, which were traded in by Jamaica in the deal.

"We are very proud to announce that the Jamaica Defense Force has once again selected Damen for its fleet requirements," says Damen Sales Manager Americas Alan Borde. "We are looking forward to seeing these vessels in operation for this much-valued client."

The two patrol boats from available stock are expected to be delivered to Jamaica by the end of this year and will be crewed by Jamaican and Damen personnel on their voyage to the Caribbean.

The traded in vessels, decommissioned earlier this month, are to be transported to the Netherlands on a heavy-lift ship.
