Engility to aid Marines with new command-and-control gear

CHANTILLY, Va., Sept. 23 (UPI) -- Engility Holdings has received a $16 million contract to develop and deliver training support on new command-and-control equipment and software.

The award is for one year, with a one-year option. It was issued by the U.S. Navy's Space and Naval Warfare Systems Center Atlantic for the U.S. Marine Corps.

"With this contract, we have the opportunity to help modernize the Marine Corps training program with a variety of live, virtual and simulation environments," said Engility chief executive officer Lynn Dugle. "The Marines have come to rely on Engility to provide innovative training and technical expertise as well as program management and logistics support to their missions around the world."

Under the contract, Engility will develop and deliver training support on the newly-fielded equipment and software and also develop 3D immersive virtual training environments to host USMC training suitable for use in a classrooms or in mobile applications.

Engility will also supply Command Post Systems advisers, who will embed with the Marine Expeditionary Force and major supporting commands to support information management officers responsible for the deployment and use of command-and-control systems within their units.
