Cubic completes acquisition of Intific Inc.

SAN DIEGO, March 4 (UPI) -- Cubic Corporation reports it has completed its acquisition of Intific Inc., enhancing its virtual simulation and advanced research capabilities.

Terms of the transaction were not immediately available but Cubic said Intific will become part of its Cubic Defense Systems segment, which focuses on live, virtual, and game-based training solutions.

"We plan to harness the creative energy of Intific's workforce and to combine their considerable portfolio of leading edge capabilities and solutions with our market footprint and product mix," said Dave Schmitz, president of Cubic Defense Systems. "Bringing together our respective companies will allow us to continue to be thought leaders in our core market and deliver leading edge innovative solutions for our customers."

Pete Bonanni, president of Texas-based Intific said, "We were looking for a partner that values innovation, advanced technologies, and one that can broaden our customer footprint in the U.S. and abroad.

"The Intific team will enhance Cubic's solutions for markets in defense, cyber, and transportation worldwide."

Intific specializes in software and game-based solutions in modeling and simulation, training and education, cyber-warfare, and neuroscience. It ended 2013 with about $14 million in revenue. It was recently contracted by the U.S. Defense Advanced Projects Agency to develop platforms for a Department of Defense plan to conduct, and assess cyber-warfare in a manner similar to kinetic warfare.
