EL SEGUNDO, Calif., Feb. 11 (UPI) -- Rick Yuse, president of airborne systems at Raytheon, said Tuesday a new electronic warfare program provides a streamlined tool for U.S. defense customers.
U.S. defense contractor Raytheon said it combined several of its electronic warfare component programs into one operation it calls Electronic Warfare Systems.
"This new mission area will focus our resources and expertise to provide the technology systems and advanced capabilities our war fighters need to effectively and safely execute their mission," Yuse said in a statement Tuesday.
Based on Raytheon's campus in El Segundo, Calif., the company's new warfare divisions combines electronic-warfare protection systems, next generation jammer and other electronic communication systems into a single unit within the company's space and airborne systems business.
The new division will be led by Travis Slocumb, a former Raytheon vice president with a legacy of working with U.S. military agencies and the Department of Homeland Security.
