LONDON, Nov. 20 (UPI) -- British firm Frost and Sullivan sees defense opportunities for advanced technologies worldwide.
Despite tightening defense budgets, Frost and Sullivan projects growth in the commercial potential of off-the-shelf technologies.
In particular, the firm said it sees advancement in the area of Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance technology.
Frost and Sullivan consultant Sabbir Ahmed, in a release, stated that this pattern is "not so much attributed to a reduction in Western market expenditure as significant investment growth in most Transitioning Markets."
Countries such as Brazil, Russia, India, China, along with Saudi Arabia among others are the emerging markets with significantly higher growth rates in C4ISR expenditures, he said.
Ahmed added that defense companies are interested in geographical expansion, which he sees as a "sound strategy given that defense budgets in the Transitioning Markets are on the rise due to economic growth."
Ahmed continued that interested nations have an interest in integrated Land C4ISR systems such as armored vehicles with on-board computing systems.
