U.S., Emirates' firms link up

ORLANDO, Fla., Feb. 28 (UPI) -- Lockheed Martin's Gyrocam Systems has joined with a company in the United Arab Emirates to do business with the Emirates' military.

The initial, primary focus of the teaming agreement between Lockheed and Global Aerospace Logistics is for vehicle-based intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance systems.

"This teaming agreement with Lockheed Martin emphasizes the values and goals of our established relationship," said Hassan Yousuf, chief executive officer for Global Aerospace Logistics. "Together, we are committed to providing defense capabilities to support the U.A.E. armed forces and transferring knowledge and skills to Emirati citizens."

The team will work to leverage proven EO/IR sensor solutions for ground vehicles and fixed applications to provide the Emirates' forces with situational awareness.

(Willy) Moore Jr., president -- Middle East and Africa for Lockheed Martin. "The team of Global Aerospace Logistics and Lockheed Martin Gyrocam Systems brings the expertise necessary to provide and sustain world class ISR solutions."

Global Aerospace Logistics is a subsidiary of Emirates Advanced Investments, a business development and investment company with headquarters in Abu Dhabi.
