FAIRFAX, Va., May 21 (UPI) -- The Defense Intelligence Agency at the U.S. Defense Department has selected General Dynamics to support command and control information technology requirements.
U.S. company General Dynamics announced Thursday its Information Technology unit will compete for task orders as part of the DIA's Solutions for the Information Technology Enterprise, or SITE, contract vehicle.
"We continue to be dedicated to the mission, supporting our customers' IT infrastructure needs, security and sustainment requirements for successful continuity of operations in preserving national security," Dan Johnson, General Dynamics Information Technology president, said in a statement.
The indefinite delivery, indefinite quantity contract, worth $6.6 billion to all the companies selected, includes task orders supporting the systems engineering, operations support and network operation capabilities of the Defense Department's command and control assets.
General Dynamics said the majority of the task orders will be in support of IT enterprises, data center design and network modernization initiatives among other DIA requirements.
