Biometrics featured at London expo

LONDON, April 13 (UPI) -- Northrop Grumman Corp. announced plans to unveil a biometric real-time, searchable system for law enforcement at a London counter-terrorism exhibit.

Northrop Grumman said it would feature its biometric data-capture system that allows mobile scanning of fingerprint, face and iris images. The system allows law enforcement agents to match biometric capabilities to their security databases in real time.

A so-called Livescan system, meanwhile, allows law enforcement officials to capture finger and palm print images in a searchable system.

Meanwhile, a new system slated for security operations at the 2012 London Olympics, will allow first responders to track and handle emergency traffic through a computer-aided dispatch system.

The counter-terrorism conference kicks off Wednesday in London. More than 250 industrial leaders and associations from the United Kingdom and overseas are to attend.
