BILLERICA, Mass., Dec. 22 (UPI) -- American Science and Engineering Inc. has been selected to deliver an order of its parcel-scanning technologies for use in the Middle East.
Massachusetts-based AS&E announced it has received a contract to deliver its trademarked Gemini parcel inspection systems to an undisclosed customer in the Middle East.
Under the $7.3 million order, AS&E will provide service and parts along with the delivery of the Gemini technologies, a parcel-scanning system designed to detect explosives, drugs and weapons among other security threats.
"We believe that the Gemini system's combination of Z Backscatter X-ray and dual-energy transmission technology provides the most attractive value proposition for parcel inspection available today," Anthony Fabiano, AS&E president and chief executive officer, said in a statement.
