JASPER, Ind., April 15 (UPI) -- U.S. company V.I.O. Inc. has contracted Kimball Electronics Group Inc. to support the production of wearable digital camera technologies.
Electronic manufacturing-services company Kimball was contracted by V.I.O. to produce the Point Of View wearable digital camera systems. The POV cameras were developed by V.I.O. to support military and public-safety applications, among other uses.
V.I.O. awarded U.S. company Kimball the POV camera-production contract after concerns were raised about the former POV manufacturer based in China.
"V.I.O. is moving production of this product from China, citing quality and communication concerns, and awarding the business to Kimball," a news release said.
Kimball officials said the POV production will take place at its California and Indiana facilities.
