KVH to deliver tactical navigation tech

MIDDLETOWN, R.I., April 9 (UPI) -- U.S. company KVH Industries Inc. announced it has received $1.3 million in new orders for its tactical-navigation technologies for military vehicle platforms.

KVH Industries Inc. said the tactical-navigation orders, from three undisclosed international prime contractors, are designed to provide military vehicles with precision navigation and also link separate military units digitally in combat zones.

Official said the KVH Industries' tactical-navigation systems are widely deployed for operations in Afghanistan and Iraq, linking crews and commanders to a network for mission-critical data exchanges.

"These new orders are a reflection of the value that our international customers place on our (tactical navigation) systems, which have proven their worth in a wide range of demanding military environments and operational theaters worldwide," Dan Conway, KVH Industries vice president of business development, said in a statement.
