SyncServer S300/S350 gets certification

SAN JOSE, Calif., March 30 (UPI) -- The U.S. Defense Department has certified that a network time-server technology from Symmetricom Inc. has met global positioning system security requirements.

U.S. company Symmetricom said its SyncServer S300/S350 selective availability/anti-spoofing module network time server meets the Defense Department's Global Positioning System security requirements.

The certification of its SyncServer S300/S350 allows the GPS technology to be integrated with Defense Department networks to support ongoing operations.

"Symmetricom has been a leading provider of secure GPS-based time and frequency solutions for over a decade," Paul Skoog, Symmetricom product marketing manager, said in a statement.

"Now, with the SyncServer S300/S350 SAASM, we set new standards for security, reliability and versatility in synchronizing the time on mission-critical servers and workstations for (Department of Defense) networks."
