LANCASTER, Pa., March 3 (UPI) -- The U.S. Air Force has contracted Herley Industries Inc. to support the B1 Bomber aircraft with radar technologies.

U.S. company Herley, a developer of microwave technologies for the defense market, says its Lancaster division was awarded the Air Force contract. Under the approximately $1 million deal, Herley will deliver its transmit microwave assemblies used in the APQ-164 and APG-68 radar systems.

Officials say the APQ-164 radar system is deployed with the Air Force's fleet of B1 Lancer strategic bomber aircraft.

"Herley has provided quality microwave products for U.S. government military aircraft for over 40 years, and we are very pleased to continue that support through follow-on awards such as these," Myron Levy, Herley chairman and chief executive officer, said in a statement.
