Officials say the contract with Herren Associates, which has been working with the Navy for 20 years, is part of an effort by the Navy to modernize its business operations to better support mission objectives.

"Transforming Navy business operations while driving enterprise-wide efficiencies calls for a support team with significant depth of experience across executive, managerial and technical areas," Jeff Herren, chief executive officer of Herren Associates, said in a statement.

"We have that team in place, and we're proud that we can help the Navy's Enterprise Resource Planning program continue to modernize and standardize Navy business operations."
