LaBarge to continue DIRCM support

ST. LOUIS, Feb. 10 (UPI) -- U.S. company Northrop Grumman has contracted LaBarge Inc. for continued support of an aircraft infrared-guided missile countermeasure technology.

Missouri-based LaBarge was awarded the follow-on contract to continue production of electronic equipment used in Northrop Grumman's AN/AAQ-24(V) Directional Infrared Countermeasure, or DIRCM, system.

Under the $1.6 million deal, LaBarge, which has supported Northrop Grumman's DIRCM for more than 10 years, will continue production of its electronic technologies at the company's Tulsa, Okla., facility.

Officials say the AN/AAQ-24(V) offers large military aircraft countermeasures to infrared-guided missiles by detecting a missile launch and activating a system that tracks and defeats the threat.
