New geospatial analysis software released

STERLING, Va., Jan. 21 (UPI) -- U.S. company Overwatch Geospatial Systems has launched a new three-dimensional geospatial analysis software for defense and homeland security applications.

Overwatch Geospatial Systems released the next generation of its Urban Analyst, version 4.3. The Urban Analyst, operating with the ArcGIS framework developed by U.S. company ESRI, offers the Defense and the Homeland Security departments new 3-D geospatial analysis capabilities.

Officials say the 3-D software offers workflow analysis and multiuser collaboration for security planning and improved situational awareness, among other applications.

"Overwatch Geospatial Systems has always been a leader in geospatial technology with a focus on work flow efficiency and mission support at a cost-effective price point," Jim Dolan, Overwatch Geospatial Systems senior vice president and general manager, said in a statement.

"Our new version of Urban Analyst provides greater 3-D mission support and situational awareness by responding to the increasing adoption of 3-D analysis in the geo-intelligence field."
