ASEI wins high Nasdaq listing

BILLERICA , Mass., Jan. 7 (UPI) -- American Science and Engineering, an X-ray detection technology firm, has won a high Nasdaq listing.

American Science and Engineering Inc. said in a statement Wednesday that it had "been included in the Nasdaq Global Select Market."

"The Nasdaq Global Select Market has the highest initial listing standards of any exchange in the world based on financial and liquidity requirements. ASEI shares will begin trading under the Nasdaq Global Select Market on Jan. 2, 2008," ASEI said.

"We are pleased the Nasdaq has selected ASEI to join the Nasdaq Global Select Market," said Anthony Fabiano, ASEI's president and CEO. "This inclusion in the top tier of Nasdaq trading will give our stock greater visibility and reflects our continued focus on growth and our commitment to driving shareholder value over the long term."

"Prior to the change, the company had been listed on the Nasdaq Global Market. Currently, Nasdaq-listed companies are classified under three listing tiers -- Nasdaq Global Select Market, Nasdaq Global Market, and Nasdaq Capital Market," American Science and Engineering said.
