Boeing F/A-18 program wins coop award

ST. LOUIS, Dec. 6 (UPI) -- Boeing's F/A-18E/F Integrated Readiness Support Teaming program has won a defense collaboration award..

"The program (has) won the Contractor-Military Collaboration of the Year Award at the Defense Logistics Awards in Washington D.C. Boeing partners with Naval Air Systems Command and Naval Inventory Control Point on the FIRST program," the company said in a statement Friday.

"Through FIRST, Boeing asset managers oversee inventories, forecast demand and procure spare parts for the U.S. Navy F/A-18 Super Hornet fleet. Boeing also provides technical information, on-site engineering services and field service representatives," the company said.

"The Defense Logistics Awards honor, recognize and promote logisticians in the U.S. Department of Defense and the defense industry who have made significant contributions to military logistics. These logisticians support interoperability and transformation through logistics initiatives, programs and processes. The awards are part of the annual Defense Logistics Conference that brings together logistics leaders from across the U.S. armed services," Boeing said.
