Libya says its quitting Arab League

TRIPOLI, Libya, Oct. 24 (UPI) -- Libya Thursday informed the Arab League it intends to quit the 22-nation body, a source at the Ministry of African Unity said. In Cairo, a league spokesman said the organization had not been officially notified of Libya's intent, the third time it has said it was quitting since joining in 1953.
