Meggitt providing training systems support to Canada

SUWANEE, Ga., Aug. 26 (UPI) -- Meggitt Training Systems Inc. has been contracted by Canada to provide in-service support for small arms and indirect fire training systems.

The award to the company in Quebec, Canada, is for three years and carries a value of $25 million. It was issued by the Public Works Government Services Canada on behalf of the Department of National Defense.

"Meggitt has been a proud supplier of weapon simulation to the Canadian Armed Forces for more than 20 years," said Andrea Czop, president of Meggitt Training Systems (Quebec), Inc. "We remain a committed partner supporting the operational readiness of Canada's soldiers, sailors and airmen with advanced simulation and training systems."

The contract includes operator and maintenance support for related training activities and incorporates onsite support for health, usage and equipment monitoring at major bases.
