Under its $335 million contract, BAE Systems will research and tap new sources of information for the agency project, transforming the way NGA collects, maintains and uses data.

"Our GEOINT (geo-intelligence) experts will be exploring new sources of data, including commodity data, open source intelligence, and NGA archive data to deliver new products in line with the agency's changing mission focus," said DeEtte Gray, president of BAE Systems' Intelligence & Security sector.

BAE said work on NGA's GEOINT Data Services Program will be performed at company facilities in New Jersey and Pennsylvania but added no additional information on its work.

The length of the contract was not disclosed.
