"France is an important market for us, and we look forward to strengthening our relationship with both of these customers."

The value of the contract was not disclosed in the announcement, which was made in London at an international defense and security equipment exhibition.

Deliveries of the Protector RWS are expected to begin in the first quarter of next year.

Kongsberg said the RWS can operate in all environmental conditions and more than 17,000 units have been delivered to military forces in 17 countries.
