TEWKSBURY, Mass., June 18 (UPI) -- A $115.9 million U.S. Army contract has been given Raytheon to keep providing engineering services for the Patriot Air and Missile Defense System.
The work will be performed not only for the U.S. Army but for foreign military sales customers, and includes systems analysis, software development, testing and logistics support, and country-specific system requirements," Raytheon said.
"NATO and our 12 Patriot partners worldwide count on Patriot to protect their people and allies, as we're witnessing today on the world stage," said Sanjay Kapoor, vice president for integrated air and missile defense at Raytheon's Integrated Defense Systems business. "The U.S. Army's continued commitment to Patriot sustainment through engineering services ensures that the Patriot systems are at the highest level of readiness whenever and wherever they are called to serve."
Additional terms of the contract from the Army's Aviation and Missile Command were not disclosed, but Raytheon said its work will be performed at its facilities in Massachusetts, Alabama and New Mexico.
