BAE gets another F-16 support deal

FORT WORTH, Texas, Feb. 19 (UPI) -- The government of Oman has given BAE Systems a new contract to continue support for U.S.-made F-16s operated by its air force.

The award, worth nearly $23 million, is for F-16 support equipment, test systems and spare parts, which be supplied to the sultanate by the beginning of next year.

"We are pleased that Oman has again called upon BAE Systems to deliver the systems and services they require to affordably achieve their mission readiness," said Carl Huncharek, program director for BAE Systems. "Our deep understanding and single point of contact for their sustainment equipment needs is why we continue to see such strong repeat business."

BAE Systems says it has delivered more than 25,000 support equipment and test systems for F-16s to more than 24 countries worldwide. Its on-time delivery rate is 98 percent. In addition, it is a leading systems integrator for avionics upgrades to F-16s.

Items for the new Omani contract will be produced at company facilities in Fort Worth, Texas.
