"Creating ADARS is part of our strategy to increase our presence in key markets," Saab President and Chief Executive Officer Hakan Buskhe. "UAE is one of these key markets, where we have had business relations since the 1980s, including within the radar system area."

ADARS will be a center for the development of next-generation radar systems, as well as for production, maintenance and support services.

Saab said as part of the agreement, 15 local nationals will take part in an advanced degree program in Sweden in microwave and radar technology engineering.
