"Creation of a single Sukhoi Company will give a new global impetus to the development of not only its production capacity, but also the Russian aerospace industry as a whole," Sukoi said. "It will allow domestic military and civil aircraft to take its rightful place in the global market.

"Centralized management of investment decisions will maximize return on investments; the quality of corporate governance will improve. The costs will reduce due to diminishing of the transaction costs between the structural units of the company."

Sukhoi was established in 1939. Among the military aircraft it produces is the SU-33, the Flanker-D, an all-weather fighter used from aircraft carriers.
