More than 4,000 units are in operation worldwide on a variety of rotor and fixed-wing aircraft.

"The LISA-200 is ideally suited to meet the rigorous standards set by the M-346, which is one of the world's most modern and advanced jet trainer systems," said Marco Clochiatti, managing director and general manager of Northrop Grumman Italia.

"This award builds on prior collaboration with Alenia Aermacchi through program such as the Eurofighter and exemplifies Northrop Grumman's navigation leadership in international markets."

The M-346 is a twin-turbofan lead-in fighter trainer with full digital flight controls and avionics.
