L-3 Unidyne wins Navy contract

NORFOLK, Va., Aug. 1 (UPI) -- A $69 million contract has been given to L-3 Unidyne by the U.S. Navy for life-cycle support services for surface ship and submarine towed arrays.

Under the award, L-3 Unidyne will upgrade, repair and refurbish towed array sonar systems, towed array sonar modules, towed array sonar components, tow cables, tow cable components and ancillary equipment and components for all Navy and Foreign Military Sales towed array sonar systems.

Covered under the contract are towed arrays in the Navy's inventory and those added during the contract period.

L-3 Unidyne said the award from the Commander, Naval Undersea Warfare Center, Newport Division, will be conducted until mid-2015 if all options are exercised.
