FAIRFAX, Va., June 1 (UPI) -- ManTech International has received a contract from the U.S. Army for continued logistics sustainment and support of MRAP vehicles used by the U.S. military.
The award for continued support of Mine Resistant Ambush Protected vehicles is for five years and, if all options are exercised, is worth $2.85 billion.
"As one of the very first contractors on the battlefield, we have built a strong working relationship with the U.S. Army over many years," said ManTech Chairman and Chief Executive Officer George J. Pedersen.
"This relationship is an essential part of who we are at ManTech and winning this contract is a statement about the quality and professionalism of our people.
"We are fully committed to the critical mission of the Army's TACOM Life Cycle Management Command and our other Army customers, even as we expand into new business areas such as healthcare IT and cybersecurity.
"This win, coupled with our recent awards to support the FBI's Criminal Justice Information Services and the NIH's Health IT Acquisition and Assessment Center, affirms our strategic investments to grow in traditional and emerging markets," he said.
ManTech said under the contract it will handle rapid assessment and repair of battle-damaged MRAPs and of mechanical failures. It will also insert technology, integrate systems and perform upgrades and modifications as needed.
Supply management and transportation support for route-clearance vehicles will also be conducted.
