ROME, March 12 (UPI) -- Finmeccanica of Italy reports it has won more than $120.2 million in military orders through its DRS Technologies and Selex Galileo subsidiaries.
The U.S. Army accounts for the largest portion -- $68.7 million for tank rank modules for the Army's Modular Fuel System from DRS Technologies. The Army also contracted DRS for field service, support and logistics in connection with the company's mast-mounted site used on OH-58D Kiowa helicopters.
The support award is worth $31.9 million.
Finmeccanica said an unidentified customer gave Selex Galileo about $19.6 million in awards for support of the company's FLIR111 navigation system, the Grifo radar system and for logistics support for support of unmanned aerial vehicles.
Other contracts the company reported include about $55 million to Ansaldo Energia -- a joint venture between Finmeccanica and First Reserve Corp. -- for maintenance of the Escatron and Algeciras combined-cycle thermoelectric plants of E.ON Generacion in Spain. The contract is for nine years and includes the supply of spare parts and innovative technological solutions as well as standard services and spares.
Ansaldo Energia also was given a $26.2 million contract by Enel Green Power to supply three 20 MW steam turbines and relevant generators for the geothermic power plant of Piancastagnaio, Italy.
Another subsidiary, Ansaldo STS, was contracted by POSCO E&C to provide driverless signaling systems of the Ui-Shinseol LRT in Seoul. The award is worth more than $27 million.
