CPI Aerostructures wins Goodrich order

EDGEWOOD, N.J., Feb. 21 (UPI) -- CPI Aerostructures Inc. of New Jersey reports it is to provide Goodrich Corp. with an undisclosed number of structural assemblies.

Additional details on the assemblies weren't disclosed but CPI said it will, for the first time, have authority for design modifications to the structures. It will also use the engineering development center of GKN Aerospace in Tennessee for design and structural analysis activities.

The purchase order is the first received by CPI from Goodrich.

The company said work on the structural assemblies will start immediately and that it expects to deliver the first assembly next year.

CPI supplies structures used in Black Hawk helicopters, E-2D Hawkeye surveillance planes and various attack helicopters as well as for a variety of commercial aircraft.

Contracts in the first two months of this year, including the Goodrich order, total $27.4 million, the company said, compared to $22.3 million for the same period last year.
