Ethernet encryption system introduced

ROCKVILLE, Md., Dec. 15 (UPI) -- A high-speed Ethernet encryption solution for military data security has been introduced by U.S. company 3e Technologies International.

The product is called EtherGuard HSE, which the company says provides "impenetrable multi-key data security."

"With the introduction of EtherGuard HSE, we continue to make military-based networks more secure, resilient and manageable, providing the ideal system size, weight and power for optimal functionality," 3eTI President Benga Erinle said.

"EtherGuard HSE is a significant milestone in encryption technology that meets the robust and strict requirements for mission-critical networks.

"It's a milestone that will solidify the company's leadership in the Department of Defense sector well into the future."

EtherGuard HSE uses 3eTI's proprietary DarkNode technology for U.S. Defense Department-grade security and to protect against Layer 2 vulnerabilities.

EtherGuard HSE's higher throughput -- 700 Mbps -- improves transmissions on secure network and simplifies management by allowing selective encryption, the company said.

Other features include: FIPS 140-2 Level 2 inline encryption, decryption, and data integrity; VLAN mapping; low latency line-rate encryption (less than 500 microseconds); and encryption technology with "no back doors."
